Feeling confused about the process of purchasing a firearm online, or are you wondering if it's even legal?? This process is not only 100% legal, but very easy and simple! Buying a firearm online is a great option if you do not have access to a local firearms store or if you just don't have the time to get over to a store. Often times you will find that firearms being sold through an online retailer are often more affordable and the selection is more extensive. Securing a firearm online can be seamlessly achieved by following these straightforward steps.
Step 1: Selecting Your Firearm(s)
Caddo County Guns & Ammo online store is a direct reflection of inventory that is currently stocked in our physical location. We have many great and unique products to choose from that you can easily search with keywords, Universal Product Codes (UPCs), or browse via categories. Once you have found the product(s) you want to buy, add them to your cart.
Step 2: Checkout
Once you are finished shopping, it is time to move on to checkout. On the checkout page you will be required to fill out all the fields on the form before the order can be placed. The checkout page can be accessed by clicking on the cart or "bag" looking icon at the top, right hand corner of the page, and then clicking on the "Check Out" button that appears on the pop-up menu.
Step 3: Selecting Your FFL
Federal law requires that all firearms purchased online must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer (FFL). Our website features an easy search function to locate your preferred FFL to ship your order to. If you cannot find your preferred dealer, please send us a copy of their FFL to info@caddocountyguns.com. Make sure you contact your FFL ahead of time to find out if they accept FFL transfers and/or let them know that your Caddo County Guns & Ammo purchase is on its way to their location.
Step 4: Enter Payment Information:
Enter your card information into the appropriate fields. Caddo County Guns & Ammo offers a no-fee credit card payment option.
Step 5: Placing Your Order
Once you have successfully entered in all the appropriate information, you may place your order. And that's it! You just bought a firearm online! You will receive a confirmation email and tracking email for your shipment. Back here at the store we will collect your order, prepare it for shipping and send it off to your FFL.
Step 6: Picking Up Your Firearm From Your FFL
Once your firearm has arrived, you will receive a notification that it has been delivered. Your FFL may reach out and let you know that it has arrived as well. It is best to call your FFL after you receive a delivery notification to confirm it has arrived. Once you arrive at your FFL and let them know about your order. You will then be required to:
- Present a valid government-issued photo identification
- Fill out an ATF Form 4473
- Pass the instant background check through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) with the FBI
After you have completed the form and passed the background check, you will then have to pay the FFL Transfer Fee and take possession of your new firearm.
Conclusion
Easy, safe AND completely legal! The receiving FFL acts as the facilitator between you and whomever you purchase your firearm from online. If you still have questions about buying a firearm online, feel free to contact us and we can help clarify even more.
